The first year I was impressed with Teachers, Course offerings and the District overall. Somewhere they missed the ball during her second year. My advice, when something you've been doing for years isn't working anymore....Research and actively make a change for improvement. Keep parents informed on strategies to improve, status of improvement and overall success/failure of the end state. Census district changes may mean a new process should be put in place to adapt to the diversity of your students. Strive for Excellence in all areas (not just Effective)and teachers, parents and students will benefit in the long run. Unfortunately, there are too many parents in the area that do not care to get involved in their childrens education, and do not teach them the most basic rules of behavior. As an African American mother it has been a struggle every year. They make their own rules to suit themselves. Just recently, my daughter took the Profiency Test and scored 263 out of 275 possible points. The letter from the State said that she would not have to retake the test but Welch is saying all the children do in order to raise test scores at the school. My two children went there and I am excited about my grandchild going there. The teaching staff is excellent and the office personnel the same. Many memories were made there and the teachers after all these years and all the students they have had still remember my two children and myself.
