Schiel Prim School Arts Enrchmnt Reviews

My experience with this school has been very rewarding for our children. The staff and falculty is very professional, and the parents are very involved. Our child advanced in many areas just after attending one year at this school. This is one of the best schools in this district.

We live in a school district in Cincinnati that is severely underperforming; according to law, we are able to choose a private school and receive a 'voucher' for tuition. Instead, we chose Schiel Primary (Cincinnnati Public Magnet School) for our son's kindergarten planning on sending him to private for 1st grade. We are so pleased with his performance and his character and arts enrichment at Schiel we will continue to forgo state tuition funding and reap the benefits of his stellar education at Schiel. We are so appreciative to the teachers, staff and to all of the parents and kids for their outstanding involvement and enthusiasm. It is a wonderful environment and we are truly thankful to be part of it!

This school is the best in the area. I went here, my nephew went here, and now my daughter is attending Schiel. I like all the teachers I have meet so far. My daughter loves her teachers. Ms. Hicks, Mr. Mason, the art teacher, the dance teacher, even the lunchroom workers! She goes to school excited and come home delighted! She loves Schiel so much, she is disappointed when school is closed for scheduled breaks and during the recent blackout.

Schiel surpassed the state indicators in reading and math on this year's Ohio Achievement Test. The state indicators are 75% and Schiel scored 85% in reading and 79.5% in math! Reading score had a 25% gain and math an 8.5% gain. Schiel also exceed the AYP standards set by NCLB by 11% in reading and approximately 10% in math . Schiel is now rated an 'Excellent School' , the highest ranking possible, on the Ohio State Report card!

My son went to a private christian school for kindergarten and 1st. He attended 2nd grade at Schiel and we were very impressed! Mrs Busemeyer was an excellent teacher. The classrooms are relatively small and the children and staff seem to really care about each other. Mr Lewis the principal is very involved and easily accesible. Mr Mason the suzuki teacher is awesome! My son loves playing the violin. We are looking forward to next year also.

i am extremely happy with the exposure to the arts schiel has provided to my children. i am amazed with the suzuki program and teacher steve mason. im impressed w/the attitudes of many teachers namely mr.kolner and ms amsbary they truely care about the children they are teaching and have made lasting impressions

My child is in the first grade at Scheil. There is a strong sense of community among teachers and students. Mr Stevenson is an excellent teacher and runs a very organized classroom. I can only hope her future teachers are of such high quality. The Suzuki program is excellent also. The experience has really boosted her self esteem.

As parents who really want to support public education, but did not want to sacrifice our child's welfare for 'the cause', this arts magnet school has proved a very good option. The arts-enriched approach is particularly impressive and effective, especially for children like ours who are very hands-on learners. Like any school, a lot depends on the teacher, though, and Schiel has its gems and duds.

So far, we are very impressed with our daughter's quality of education at Schiel. She loves going to school and she is learning so much for a kindergartener. The arts-enriched curriculum is fantastic.
