Ryland Heights Elementary School Reviews

I am very excited about the 2009/2010 school year.My daughter went to ryland 2 years ago and then they redistricted our area. She had to go to fort wright elementary last year and it was an awful experience.I have since did an open enrollment to get my daughter back at ryland because I love the school and the principal Mrs.Barwell is awesome.I am so excited for my daughter to start school there again.

Ryland is the best kept secret in Northern Kentucky! When my daughter was about to enter kindergarten last year, my husband and I researched all the schools in Kenton County (since with open enrollment we could technically go anywhere). We looked at test scores, took a tour of the school, met the teachers/principals and we knew instantly that Ryland was the place for us. Although the school is older, it's what inside that matters. The best staff around! We have been soooo happy here and are very thankful for everyone at Ryland!!!

Love this school! My son started third grade here in October. He had no trouble adjusting, making friends or catching up. He has had the best school year yet!

My daughter has been in Kindergarten for 6 weeks. Although she has been in daycare since she was 14 weeks old... the adjustment to Kindergarten has been quite challenging for her... and of course, for us! Let me tell you that the faculty is amazing. Her teacher, the counselor and principal have shown us nothing but patience. They have comforted our daughter yet continue to move her forward. As a full time working mother, productivity at work is impacted by whether or not I am worried about my kiddos. I trust that my daughter is in the best hands... we are lucky to have found this school for her.

When we moved here from Ohio I had no idea about the schools. I took a tour of some of the schools before we purchased a house and kind of interviewed the principals at each school. I decided to live where we did because of ryland. My kids are now going on their second year there and I'm so glad I picked Ryland. The principal and the staff are so great and care so much about the kids.

My daughter has gone to Ryland for 2 years now and she LOVES it. My son will start this year. I am so glad we found this little school. My kids came from a Preschool/Daycare facility that was AWESOME! And I had some concerns about them adjusting to Ryland. My daughter had a new to the school teacher in 1st grade, Ms. Brauntwart.....She was great! and Mrs. Meyer for 2nd grade...She was the Fabulous! Ms Barwell is Amazing! I can't say enough about the school......Hope my son feels the same as my daughter! :)

Ryland Heights is the best elementary school that any of my children have attended!! The staff is wonderful and they make you feel like family even if you have just met them. My oldest (now 16) started at Ryland in the 4th grade and the transition into the Kenton County school was soo smooth, even coming from another state. My 7 year old loves to go to school and I have a Pre-schooler at Ryland and she cries when there is no school. It is just a great place to be!

My grandson and I moved here in June of last year. We did not know anyone nor of the school he was to atttend. During orientation for the 2007-2008 school year we were both pleased and excited with the approach and support the school has to offer. It is February now and we are very satisfied with the school. Moreso, Ms. Silva is an awesome teacher, as with all other staff I have encountered; my grandson is treated as a person with due respect and concern for not only his education but personal growth and happiness. Thank you all at Ryland, the YMCA program, and community support. The ultimate learning opportunity in a supportive, safe, and pleasant environment.

We love Ryland! I have 3 kids enrolled there now and the staff is fabulous! Not to mention all the great 'extras' this school provides! After school program that is top of the line with awsome activities for kids(tae kwon do, scrapbooking, cooking classes, homework help, intermurials....just to name a few). I recommend Ryland to anyone I know moving into the Kenton county district!

Ryland is a real great school, every year it just gets better. They really care about the kids, an their needs. They make sure every kid reaches their highest potential possible in any an every thing they do. Besides the classes they have during the day for ex. Computer,Music,Art,an etc. They also have the Y.M.C.A After school program with all kinds of things for ex. Tyquando,Dance(Tap&Ballet),Scrapbooking,an a number of other things. That is after a hour of Homework help, which I think is wonderful for the kids in case they are not sure how to do the work. It just gives them extra help an more time to learn. This is a School that when you walk in the door they call you by name. This is rally a great school an has been for years an it only gets better year after year.

Looks can be deceiving! Ryland is a older looking school (from the outside) but the staff & internal makeup is amazing. My two (9 & 6) transferred in from a nearby school, we moved, and they absolutely love it. It really has that family atmosphere and Cathy Barwell (Principal) has a lot to do with that! All the teachers we've talked to have song her praises. Other reviews have mentioned the staff really knowing the students and going the extra mile... well they are right on! Ryland has an automated phone system that contacts families on Snow Days & Delay Days... it was a pleasant surprise.

Grace started Kindergarten at Ryland this school year. She loves this school. Mrs. Barwell (principal) and Ms. Kathy (secretary) know all of the kids by their first names, how wonderful is that? My daughter has learned SO much. She is now in the AR program and has matured a great deal. Ryland Tigers Roar. Shana Holtkamp

This is my daughter's 2nd year at Ryland, she's about to finish up the 1st grade. When she started at Ryland she had alot of problems, now to listen to her or look at her you wouldn't believe it. She is doing Great, an that comes from the Principal also. When the kids walk into the school each morning they are greeted on a first name bases, what other school could you say that about? These are Wonderful Teaches an Staff at this school, an they has always been that way. I myself along with my brother an cousin's went to this school. An the only thing I can say is that with each passing year this school just keeps getting better. I am proud to say that my daughter an myself are an were RYLAND HEIGHTS TIGERS!!!!!

I have a seven year old daughter who attends this school. This is here second year there, and she is just about to finish up the first grade. I love this little school. I love the fact that when the children walk into the school in the morning the principal knows them all by there first name. How many other schools can say that with and truth behind it. I allso like that my daughter started this school last year not knowing how to read or write and within the short two years she has been there, she is in the first grade doing all advanced second grade work. I could not be more proud to say that my daughter is a Ryland Heights Tiger.
