St. Vivian Elementary School Reviews

A great school, it really prepares you for later in life. Saint Vivian rocks! We get to do a lot of fun stuf including: track and field day, walk a thon, math and science night, and icecream socials. People are very welcoming too.

The school just recently incorporated Algebra I in the 7th grade curriculum. This came after several years of feedback from parents trying to promote a higher level of math achievement. It was a change for the better. Four teachers teach the core subjects to the 7th and 8th grade students. This means that 7th graders will have the same team of teachers in the 8th grade. This is very positive for continuity as students enter the 8th grade. In the 1st quarter, discipline problems are minimized, and academics are stronger because this team of teachers knows the entering 8th grade students.

There is a huge bullying problem at st vivians, despite the existence of a bullying policy. It is no longer a safe learning environment.

Our school is a great place for students and their families. The Principal and teachers will always take time to listen to your concerns, then follow up if necessary. The auxilliary service personnel are topnotch-nurse, speech, instructional specialist and school psych. All students are known by name by most of the staff. Test scores are well above average. There is diversity among students and faculty. The PTA and Boosters (sports) are very active. Transferring students usually comment that they feel welcomed.

academics have gone down. The pastor could care less about affairs involving the school. I am glad we are almost done here. I would not send a child here.

The voucher students have much difficulty keeping up with academics compared to the rest of the school population. The pastor of the church is not very endearing to the students which is unfortunate. They have a bullying policy with no follow through. At times the school can be very unfair. The sports activities are extremely unfair due to over zealous parents.

As a parent, I have seen the academic atmosphere and results plummet in the last 3-4 years. What was once a strong academic program (esp. math) has really changed for the worse. I feel that the general atmosphere of the school has changed dramatically. The principal has little regard for the students' needs and is instead concerned with how she will 'look' given a specific situation,

If your chold has any type of learning disability this school is not for you.
