Calvary Christian School Reviews

I have been at CCS since kindergarden. Every year almost all the students get A honor rolls. CCS is the best school I've ever been in.

My daughter is currently in K5 and has grown so much by having her at CCS. The Christian values and love that the CCS gives to my daughter is very apparent. I just pray that we can continue to afford to keep our daughter & our son (in 2 years) in the school. We will continue to make sacrifies to make it happen for them. Also, CCS has an awesome atheltic department which is lead my an awesome A.D. The programs keep all children very involved in the school which helps with the children's confidence level.

Bullying issues? i was not aware of any. i have gone there since kindergarten (i'm a Junior now) and i have had very few problems. I have all kinds of friends and the teachers are for the most part amicable and helpful.

I have no idea how anyone can say that CCS has 'very low academic' standards! My children are are on the honor roll and they have to work very hard at earning their good grades. If you want your children to get a quality education from wonderful Christian teachers who love the Lord and love your children, send them to CCS. As for the bullying, the administation has always addressed any concerns I have had. Because of the fact that we do not live in a perfect world, and due to our human, sinful nature, of course there are children who behave 'unchristian like', but the administration and teachers always try to handle any situation by the Matthew 28 prinicple, as we as parents should too. :)

The middle school has very low academic standards. All writing instruction is poor as well as math instruction. Also, there is an amazing amount of bullying.

My three children have gone to this school since Kindergarten. I have one is H.S, one in M.S. and one in upper elementary. Overall, I have been very happy with the school. Academically, it is superb. The teachers communicate very well and are genuinely loving and caring. This year has brought about some changes in the leadership and faculty. Issues such as bullying and discipline are being addressed and I am happy with theses changes so far. One reason we chose this Christian school is the opportunity for the students to be active with many extra curricular activities. The music program is excellent and the athletics program is fantastic! We have loved our experience at CCS and would recommend it to anyone seeking a Christ- centered education

I agree with the comments made about the bullying problem, I have addressed the problems with administration and for their lack of response and failure to address the issues, my family chose recently to withdraw our children from Calvary. Unfortunately we have spent the last 5 years at Calvary and my children have made very close relationships within their friends, and I now have to move them to a new school. Administration choose not to address any of my concern's nor to investigate the allegations. This is very disappointing when you are trying to raise Christian children and having to constantly explain or justify the actions of the staff and administration.

This school has a great Christian curriculum, but a very weak academic curriculum. Too much money for too little quality. There is a big bullying problem at the school that the administration will not address.

Our daughters are currently attending Calvary Christian School and receiving the best education possible. I have truly enjoyed the new reading program introduced in the preschool and how it prepares the student to become fluent at a fast pace. The basics of phonics instruction is being taught. In the upper grades the Shurley method has allowed our daughters to become fabulous writers and the projects the teachers require allow the students to use power point presentations for their final reports. Walk in the building and feel at home and volunteer your time anywhere. You are very welcomed at Calvary Christian School

Both of our children graduated from Calvary and they were well prepared for college. Both obtained degrees, one in english and one in psychology. All academic programs are excellent. The teachers are loving and caring, but expect a great deal from the students. I would highly recommend this Christian based school.

This is a wonderful school. Our three children have graduated from Calvary. They were all well-prepared for their college courses and went on to earn a college degree. The teachers are loving, giving and highly qualified. Learning about God's Word is a tremendous benefit for Calvary's students. The arts program is exceptional, with award-winning art, band, and choral programs. Calvary is like a family, as parents work hand in hand with each other and with the teachers and administration. I would recommend it to anyone.

Two of my children have graduated from CCS in the past three years. Both began their formal education at Calvary beginning in Kindergarten. The academic program coupled with the spiritual training has been exceptional. I am thankful for the education they recieved at CCS. Both of them were well prepared for college, scoring far beyond the national average in both math and science. I am especially thankful for the heart of those who lead and teach at the school. They have made a lasting and profound impact on my children. Sending my children to CCS has been a valuable investment for which I am eternally grateful!

We are extremely happy with Calvary Christian School. Our children have attended this school since preschool. The teachers are loving and teach excellent morals and Christian values. They care about our children and this is shown in numerous ways each day. The quality of academics is excellent and our children consistently test above their grade levels. They actually understand what verbs, nouns, adverbs, and adjectives are. These are not taught well in our local public schools. We are also pleased with the extracurricular activities at CCS. Our children are able to take private music lessons during the school day and there are many sports opportunities. The principals and administration are courteous and approachable and truly listen to our concerns. We can not imagine sending our children to any other school in this area.

Calvary Christian deserves a superior rating! Our daughters took rigorous course loads and were well-prepared for their college experiences: one is in a nationally recognized nursing program and the other is majoring in elementary education. Both girls received scholarships. Our older daughter earned nine hours of college credit because of the excellent A.P. U.S. History and A.P. Literature programs at CCS. The fine arts programs are top-notch, and the instructors strive to bring out the very best in their students. Both our girls have the best memories of the sports programs. For its size, CCS has competed with the best and often walked away with top prizes such as in varsity soccer and competition cheerleading. The most important element is the spiritual develpment. A Biblical worldview permeates every aspect of the school from Calculus to Creative writing. We love CCS!

I've had children at Calvary Christian School (CCS) since 1996. In fact, my oldest daughter graduated from there 4 years ago. A vast majority of the graduates seek some kind of higher education following graduation. Currently I have one enrolled in elementary and one in high school. The academic program is excellent. There are advanced placement courses for the upper grades and the elementary years lay a good foundation for that. The school consistently tests higher than the national average. The music program is excellent. The band program begins in 5th grade and continues on through the award-winning high school band program. There are middle school and high school choirs that are also award-winning. The art program is excellent producing many community-area art contest winners. Parental involvement is welcome and strongly encouraged. More importantly is the Godly dedication and Biblical principles of teachers, staff and administration.
