W.E.B. Dubois Middle School Reviews

there are teachers that are not professional at times. the school should invest in crossing guards, swimming lesson at the boys & girl club, also teachers to teach music even if the parent must pat for the insturments. teacher also need to reward the well behaved kids daily. even if they have more bad days then good days. show more attention to the pupils who do good and do not let the whole class over a few students who disobey. that will teach the student if you do good that good things will happen to them. And please teach the teachers whom has less ecperinces to not let the kids get you so upset where they made up in there mind that they do not like the students no matter what. all school have same problem however my children attend w e b dubois and the teachers need to repect each student as they would like to be treated.

I believe W.E.B. Dubois puts our children first. The teachers are truly dedicated individuals who work long school days (7 am - 4:30 pm) but are still patient and understanding. They even offered free weekend tutoring before the Ohio Profiency Test. The teachers are also looking for opportunties for our childrens outside of the regular school day. For example - Space Camp, COSI, Cincinnati Ballet and Theatre, Karate and Step Dance Competitions. A dedicated teacher also arranged an 8th grade paid graduation luncheon at Jeff Ruby's. These are activities my children did not experience while in the CPS school system. Yes, this school is very disciplined but the rules are well documented in their handbook. Also, this will help our children become self discipline and lawful citizens. I wish W.E.B. Dubios continued success and I am thankful my children had an opportunity to attend this school.

I enrolled my son in Dubois Academy because he could not get the quality education each and every child is entitled to. We needed a school that believes in discipline. I knew that if a school required that each person was treated with respect(and really meant it)he would 'RISE'. Well,it's true and he has! The report card proved it! 1 C and 11 A's. Dubois Academy rocks! It is not a daycare for unruly kids nor negligent parents. Thanks Dubois Academy!

I feel the school is excellent. Just as all schools they are going through a lot of changes, but I feel they are for the better. This school has a rating of excellence and their children do extremely well on the State acheivement test. Also their children graduate and go to highschool with aspirations of continueing on to college. These children are exposed to other various activities that I don't think other schools offer, for example Kung Fu, Step, the opportunity to go to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Alabama, and various other educational experiences. The school is strict which teaches the children discipline and the importance of following rules. We have an active PTA which is registered nationally. The parent involvement is increaseing now that we have our PTA. Overall, I am very satisfied with the school.

This school is very stirct. When my mom found ouut they were stirct she thought it would be great for me.But after a while she figured out the school was way to strict. The academics are only for the tests.

It is a really good school educatinal wise. They are very strict on discipline but they do have very great rewards for there well behaved children. It is something that you have to get used to at first but it is well worth 12 hours of school a day. Also, every single one of there tenth graders just past every single part of the OGT. Which is really fantastic!

My children attend this school. I am in the process of moving my children out this school. Please be adviced. I have had so many problems with this school I cant count. Please ask about their turn over rate before you enter. I dont see the progress and my chilren dont seem to be ahead like you would think they should be. signed, disappointed parent!
