Ockerman Middle School Reviews

Great wrestling team great at sports a place where your child can succeed.

My child feels that this school spends too much time and money worshiping the sports people and not enough the academic people. My kid works her butt off with speech and drama and they don't get any attiton and they dont get reconzied. My kid also has friends in the band and they are made fun. The books in the library are old and out dated.

We moved our children from a private school to Ockerman Middle and couldn't have been happier. The teachers have been responsive, respectful and positive. Leadership is strong. The school atmosphere is positive. There are varied extracurricular activities that teachers invest their time in. The students seem happy overall, and I know from the two students I've had there, that they are challenged and learning.

Ockerman middle school use to be one of the top schools in the county. At this time I can't wait for my son to move on to the high school. I have found that the teachers seem to just not care. I wish the teachers would learn how to use STI the proper way and in a timely fashion it is hard to help your child if you are unable to see grades. I wish I could say that the last 3 years has been a good experience but I am unable to do so.

'I am a very upset student with Ockerman, because all ockerman does is take it's best students to the top and leaves all the others all on there own not trying to give them a full potentual chance to suceed. Ockerman takes no action to take care of it's bullied kids and all teachers do is ignore it, completely. There is no structure what so ever in this school. All that madder to Ockerman is it's basketball, Cheerleading, and achadimic team members. Everyone else is just a student that doesn't matter.

I feel as if Ockerman Middle School, was an excellent school. I used to attend Private School up until the 5th grade, so I can truthfully say that I received an excellent education! It was also rated one of the best schools in Kentucky! I believe that most of the teachers did an excellent job, but some of them didn't. If nothing else, send your child to Ockerman, their 7th or 8th grade year; that's when the great learning really begins. I don't have much to say about 6th grade, since I struggled too much, however I am thankful anyway. I would say that the safety is excellent, but their discipline is un called for! I just wish that schools would be strict like they used to be. However, I highly reccomend this school!

My son went to Ockerman through the 8th grade. He participated in sports and is now on the Boone High School Junior Varsity team. I liked the educational and extra curricular activities made available to him.

I have had two children attend Ockerman Middle. I feel if you have a child that dosent need much attention Ockerman Middle is fine, but if your child needs help with Math or Science in the 7th or 8th grades you need to seek out tutoring or possibly if you can afford it private schooling.
