Roma Italian Restaurant serves generous portions of American Italian food at its best. In addition to offering fresh and delicious food at family-affordable prices, Roma fills a void in the area’s retail landscape. The restaurant occupies the long vacant space at the intersection of Cheviot and Blue Rock Road, in that oddly shaped building with the triangular parking lot, that long ago housed the Chili Company.
The décor, though clean and fresh, still hints of the Chili Company’s heyday. The orangish walls, turquoise accents and Formica tabletops don’t meet the traditional Italian restaurant expectations. There are no red-checkered tablecloths, or drippy candles housed in empty wine bottles, here. In fact, you won’t find any wine bottles here. Roma doesn’t have a liquor license.
But Roma Italian Restaurant does have great food and an extensive menu to showcase it. Page through the many choices on the menu as you enjoy the complimentary basket of flaky garlic bread. The fluffy cubes come with thick marinara sauce and serve as a delicious appetizer.
Additional appetizers, like fried calamari, mozzarella cheese sticks, soups and salads are on the menu, along with the many other choices. There’s a full page of New York-style pizza with either red or white sauce. The house specialties include a variety of chicken dishes, and a Roma Special Combo that gives diners a chance to try the restaurant’s chicken parmesan, fettuccini alfredo and lasagna for $16.95.
Other options include seafood, steaks and baked pastas, along with a senior and kids' menu. And, finally, if there’s room for more, Roma’s has delicious desserts, including several kinds of cheesecakes and tiramisu.
HelloCincinnati Tip: Go early and get many of the same great dinner entrees, for less, from the lunch menu.
