A bigger than life statue of an Italian chef greets you at the entrance of Olives Restaurant at the Ludlow Garage. Relax with a drink at the expansive full service bar on the first floor, or go downstairs to the restaurant in the lower level.
Take a seat at one of the tables in the open dining room, or gain some privacy in one of Olives’ cozy nooks. Watch the game, along with a slide show of dessert items on the restaurant’s flat screen TVs, or gaze at the colorful murals of an Italian streetscape. Browse the menu as you listen to background music ranging from classic standards sung by Fred Astaire, to the romantic jazz sounds of Harry Connick Jr., to the soft rock of the seventies.
A decorative bottle graces the table, but its not an empty wine bottle. It’s Pellggrino Mineral Water, with sticker that advises diners to “Ask your server for a cold bottle of water: $3.95.” The water’s on the menu, along with many other items. Choose from a variety of appetizers including Baked Brie, Wild Mushroom and Artichoke Strudel and Cheese Sticks, breaded and fried mozzarella served with a thin marinara sauce.
Olives specializes in pizzas and offers many ingredient combinations, all featuring a hand-tossed crispy thin crust, heated to perfection in their wood fired oven. Burgers are also popular at Olives, and are always juicy, and served on a toasted bakery bun with perfectly seasoned, crisp shoestring fries.
Entrees include steak, beef and seafood along pasta. The ravioli is homemade, stuffed with fresh ingredients and is served with your choice of red marinara or creamy white sauce.
Kids enjoy eating at Olives too. The $4.95 Kids Menu is available for children ages 12 and under and includes pizza, hot dogs, grilled cheese, chicken fingers and spaghetti.
