A dancing steer wearing a bib and holding a martini glass. The sign says it all: enjoy great steak and good drinks at Maury’s Tiny Cove, a landmark of Cincinnati’s west side since 1949.
Enter the cove and face a maze. If you come from the street, weave around the hostess station and the bar to the seating area. If you enter from the back lot, duck under the low ceilings and head down the stairs. Either way transports you to the past, with roomy red vinyl booths, dark wood paneling and low lighting. You almost expect to see Sinatra’s Rat Pack or the cast of Mad Men.
A friendly server will soon greet you and bring the restaurant’s signature crackers, butter and pickles to munch on while you look over the menu. The Boneless Buffalo Wings and Buffalo Chicken Dip are recent additions to the appetizer selections and there’s a great variety of choices among the sandwiches and entrees. And now, for a limited time, all sandwiches cost just 4.95 and come with one side.
Dinners include two sides and invite diners to choose among pasta, seafood and chicken selections, but as the iconic Dancing Steer logo indicates, Maury’s does beef the best. Steaks, ribs and chops, are always wonderfully seasoned and cooked to perfection.
Have a drink with your meal from one of Maury's two full service bars, one upstairs and another downstairs. There's also a patio out back to relax and enjoy some fresh air, and party room for special occasions. The restaurant also offers catering, from simple box lunches to elegant affairs.
