Kentucky Native Plant Series: Rare Plant Conservation

Description:
This course will focus on understanding issues relating to rare plants, especially their distribution and biology in Kentucky with special focus on northern Kentucky. Principles of plant conservation and the philosophical differences in approaches to plant protection will be discussed. Practical guides to management and access to resources will be explored. This course is designed for the amateur naturalist or plant enthusiast and is one of several electives offered as part of the Kentucky Native Plant Society's certification program in native plant studies. This is a one-day class with a one-hour lunch break.
