Description:
Class meets Wednesday evenings, June 4 through July 23, 2008. Sitting for the Graduate Record Examination can be daunting, even if you've been out of college for only a few years. The GRE General Test measures skills in verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing. Each section has different types of questions and formats designed to accurately measure your knowledge and skill as an indicator of potential for success in graduate school. This comprehensive review and strategies course taught by content specialists will help you become familiar with the test, practice the types of questions routinely appearing on the test, and improve your chances of achieving your goal score. Up to two hours of work per week outside of class may be required for an optimal learning and practice experience. Four sessions are devoted to the verbal sections, and four sessions address the quantitative section. Background in algebra and geometry is assumed. For more information about the GRE, including test content, scoring methods, administration and scheduling, please visit www.ets.org/gre.
