Description:
Big Creek to Bear Creak 5 day Backpacking Trail Total Distance -- 26.3 miles (Backpack Shuttle) Difficulty -- Strenous Elevation Gain -- 5700 ft. Elevation Loss -- 5600 ft. Map Reference -- USGS Quad Gash Point, Victor & White Sand Lake This 5-day backpacking trip includes 1 day of rest with sides hikes after the second day. Day #1 We will start at Big Creek Trailhead and hike approximately 9.6 miles gaining approximate 2000 ft. Day #2 We will hike approximate 6.1 miles to White Sand Lake and stay two nights at the same camp site. We will gain 1250 ft of elevation and lose approximately 1700 ft the same day. Day #3 Rest day. We will do short day hikes around White Sand lake area Day #4 We will hike approximately 6.0 miles to Bryan lake gaining approximately 2200 ft and loosing 900 ft. Day #5 We will hike approximately 7.8 miles to our shuttle car at Bear creek Trailhead. Travel Itinerary Aug 1st (Fri) -- Travel to Missoula, MT and Drive to Victor, MT (25 miles) Aug 2nd (Sat) -- Commence hike at 8:00am (Day #1) Aug 3,4,5,6 (Wed) --- Backpacking Hike (Day #5) Aug 7th (Thur) --- Rest & Shopping Day in Missoula Aug 8th (Fri) --- Travel back to Ohio (or elsewhere) RSVP Deadline --- June 30th Bitterroot National Forest By joining this hike you agree to comply hikers responsibility & waiver
