Golf Digest named it the 3rd Best Public Golf Course in the State of Kentucky, and it’s just minutes away from downtown Cincinnati. The Golf Courses of Kenton County features three eighteen-hole courses with an estimated 120,000 rounds played annually.
Appropriately, the facility began with “The Pioneer.” Its 18 holes bring golfers through gently rolling terrain, a few water hazards, and lots of sand bunkers. Still, the Pioneer is the shortest and least difficult of the three courses. The Willow is more difficult, with more water hazards and sand traps, a longer course, and mostly flat, tree-lined terrain. The most difficult course is “Fox Run,” which features 7,055 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Its 18 holes consistently earn ratings that rank the course as one of the most challenging public courses in Kentucky.
Prepare for the challenge by practicing your swing at the driving range and perfecting your putt at the putting green. Or get some extra help by taking some lessons and getting tips from the golf pro.
Gas golf carts are available for rent, and for seniors weekday rates include 18 holes and cart rental. But golfers are welcome to walk the course and use wheeled golf bags if desired.
Upgrade your game with the latest gear from the pro shop, meet new friends by joining a league, and afterward, relax with a beer at the snack bar.
HelloCincinnati Tip: Register your birthday online to receive a complimentary golf cart rental with the payment of your greens’ fee.
