As its playful logo suggests, South Metro Sports offers a variety of athletic activities. Located in Washington Township near Springboro, the sprawling facility hosts several high school and youth volleyball, basketball and hockey teams and leagues, but also provides a variety of opportunities for everyone to get involved.
Enjoy ice skating during open skate times for just $7 for adults and $6 for children. Don’t have your own skates? Rent a pair for just $2. And if you want to improve your performance on the ice, South Metro Sports offers great instructions. Sign up for “Learn to Skate” classes and master the basics and beyond, or attend a freestyle clinic to hone your skills. Want to improve your hockey game? Try a stick and puck session. You can also join a hockey league or a even a broomball team.
There’s fun off the ice, too. Check the schedule for open gym times and pay just $5 to play. South Metro Sports features three full-length basketball courts and four regulation volleyball courts, both with AAU/NBA-approved Sport Court flooring.
If you just want to hang out with some friends, bring some quarters and head to the game room for foosball, air hockey and video games. And finally, when you’re tired and hungry from all the fun and exercise, head to the snack bar and pick up a soft drink and something good to eat.
