Pros rave about it, locals love it, and amateurs are always welcome. Since 1981, the 24-hole Disc Golf Course at Northern Kentucky’s Lincoln Ridge Park has challenged experienced players and introduced novices to the joys and frustrations of Frisbees.
Disc golf tests player’s ability to toss a Frisbee, or similar disc, into a basket, or chain star hole. Disc golfers find the course at Lincoln Ridge Park especially appealing because it demands full power bomber shots and short technical shots in the open grass and in the dense woods. Throughout the course, disc golfers encounter a bridge, must avoid the creek and may have to sacrifice their disc to a pond.
While experienced disc golfers consider the course at Lincoln Ridge Park one of the top three courses in the Cincinnati area, it’s also fun for families. Toddlers, teens and adults can often be found on the course, and enjoying the park’s other amenities too.
Teams and leagues compete at the sand volleyball court and on the soccer and baseball fields. Nearby, kids can climb, slide, crawl swing and hop at the two playgrounds, one with ADA-accessible safety surfacing. Meanwhile, parents can relax at one of the three shelter houses or play a round of horseshoes.
Lincoln Ridge Park also invites you to enjoy wildlife. Watch birds in the nest boxes of the Northern Kentucky Bluebird Trail or at the Winter Bird Feeding Station. Go fishing at one of the ponds, or enjoy a hike along the gravel-paved trail the crosses a bridge, passes streams, and overlooks a lively creek bed.
