If you’ve noticed the incredible outbreak of roof stains in your neighborhood you’re not alone. Roof stains are sweeping the Country in alarming proportion. Until recently, most of us thought all this ugliness was purely cosmetic. This however is not the case.

Copper is added to these new shingles to kill algae, but it also causes severe corrosion of gutters, downspouts, chimney flashings etc. The problem is electrolysis which occurs when two dissimilar metals come in contact. *Unless your gutters are made from copper or PVC you should not use these products.
