For music, a variety of national, regional, and local acts continually make the Queen city a buzzing spot. The biggest names play outdoors at the Riverbend Music Center or in the stadiums downtown. For a more intimate feel, however, the city has plenty of options. Bogart’s, is the original Cincinnati alt-rock club that has been open for decades. The Southgate house along the river in Newport is a centuries old home that showcases all sorts of talent. For a neighborhood pub with live music try the Jefferson Hall Saloon. The four decades old Blind Lemon is good for local jazz, as is the Blue Wisp Jazz Club downtown. For a sophisticated club with an impressive DJ scene, head to Over the Rhine’s Alchemize.
