I took my Ford Contour in a few years ago to purchase and have installed a side mirror that had been knocked off. At that point I was 22 years old and knew even less about cars than I do now. All I needed to do was order the part in the color my car was. I was sent into an office to order the part, and the mechanic told me what to tell the man at the order counter. He acted really contemptuous of me, and had no patience with me even though he made no effort to clarify his question when I didn't understand his question the first time around. He glared at me, barely said a word to me, while his buddy stood there saying nothing. I was spending $250 on a part, I was telling him exactly what the mechanic had told me to tell him, and he was treating me like crap. I really doubt he would have been so disrespectful of me if I had been a middle-aged man like he was.
