Biography

Coming from a family line of visual artists, I have continued this legacy with my obsession in the very modern medium of polymer clay.  I have been making polymer clay beads and home accessories for over 11 years.  I teach beadmaking classes in the Cincinnati area and participate in local craft shows and fundraisers.  In February of 2006 my website was born:  www.ovenfriedbeads.com .  My signature "Stacker" beads were featured in the Fall 2003 issue of PolymerCAFE Magazine in the Readers Gallery.  Frequently one can find my jewelry and other creative wares on www.etsy.com (search under seller name 'ovenfriedbeads' ) and on eBay (same username).  Ovenfried Beads is the name of my company.
Six years of experience in the best fabric/bead/treasure store St Theresa Textile Trove and part of the last 15 at the city's best local fine art gallery, A Show of Hands, I have accumulated at least a college degree's worth of knowledge about beads, quilting and fabric art, and the gallery business.  My beads have sold in several current and past bead stores in Cincinnati.
In late June 2006, HGTV arrived at my apartment/art studio in downtown Cincinnati to film part of a segment of  "That's Clever!" which will air in late 2006 or early 2007.  (See my website for updates.)  I demonstrated two of my popular crafts....my fabric coiled bowls and a polymer clay lightswitch plate.
Teaching and craft shows are something I desire to continue for as long as possible.  Any inquiries are welcome at ovenfriedbeads@fuse.net
